Copyright and rights

The Fristo software, its design, texts, graphics, diagrams and logo belong to Hoang Nguyen and are protected — in particular by the Federal Act on Copyright and Related Rights (Copyright Act, URG), which protects computer programs as works (Art. 2(3) URG), EU Directives 2009/24/EC (computer programs) and 2001/29/EC, and the Berne Convention.

You may reproduce, distribute or make this content publicly available only with our written consent, unless the law permits it.

What you may do

Within the scope of your contract you may:
– use Fristo for your business (terms and conditions, § 9)
– print records, asset sheets and QR stickers for your business and pass them on — to authorities, insurers, owners and inspection bodies
– link to Fristo’s public pages
– print individual pages for your own use

What you may not do

Without our written consent it is in particular prohibited:
– to copy, modify, sell or sublicense content or the software
– to reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the software
– to harvest content by automated means, for example the inspection library as a whole
– to remove copyright notices
– to embed or mirror parts of Fristo in someone else’s site

A breach may have civil and criminal consequences and entitles us to block access.

Your content belongs to you

What you record in Fristo — buildings, assets, work orders, photos, documents, records — remains yours. We claim no rights to it.

You grant us only the right to store, process and display this content as far as is necessary to run Fristo. This right ends when you delete the content or your contract ends. We do not use your content for advertising or to train AI models. If you have a document read by a language model, the document is sent to Anthropic; under the contract, Anthropic does not train on it either.

You warrant that you hold the necessary rights to the content you upload — photos, documents, plans — and you indemnify us against third-party claims. Plans are protected by copyright, often in favour of the architect (Art. 2(2)(e) URG).

The inspection library

Laws, ordinances and other official enactments are not protected by copyright (Art. 5 URG). Standards and guidelines of professional associations — such as those of the VKF, the SVGW or Suva — on the other hand are. Fristo therefore does not reproduce them: every template names the reference and summarises in its own words what follows from it for the inspection deadline. You obtain the wording from the issuing body.

The compilation, the summaries and the structure of the library are our work. They are protected as a collected work (Art. 4 URG) and as a work product that no one may take over and exploit by technical means (Art. 5(c) of the Federal Act against Unfair Competition). The terms and conditions also prohibit automated harvesting (§ 9).

Trademarks and distinctive signs

The name “Fristo” and the Fristo logo are distinctive signs of Hoang Nguyen. You may not use them without written consent — not even in domain names, metadata or advertising — where this could create the impression of a connection with Fristo.

Third-party trademarks mentioned on this page or in Fristo belong to their owners. We name them for information only.

Reporting infringements

If you believe that content in Fristo infringes your rights, write to email@fristo.ch with:
– a description of your protected work
– the place where the infringement can be found
– your contact details
– a statement that the use is not permitted and that your information is correct

We examine every report promptly and usually reply within seven days. If the infringement is confirmed, we remove the content or block access. If the report concerns content that a business has recorded itself, we involve that business and tell it why we are removing something.

Third parties and open source

Fristo is built on open-source components, among them Laravel and Vue. They are subject to their own licences; our use complies with them and does not restrict the rights in them. We send a list of the licences on request.

For third-party services — Stripe for card payments, Google reCAPTCHA for the contact form, Anthropic for reading documents — their terms apply in addition.

Enforcement

In the event of an infringement of our rights, we may in particular demand that it cease and claim damages, seek reimbursement of legal fees and procedural costs, and block access. Swiss law applies; to the extent permitted by law, the place of jurisdiction is Winterthur.
