Accessibility statement

Last updated 01.10.2026

1. Our aim

Fristo should be usable by everyone who works with buildings — including with impaired vision, with the keyboard only, with a screen reader or on a small phone in the boiler room. Accessibility is therefore part of the design rules every screen is built to, not a fix at the end.

We are guided by:
– the Disability Discrimination Act (BehiG)
– the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, with WCAG 2.2 as our goal
– the European standard EN 301 549
– the Swiss standard eCH-0059

We do this voluntarily: as a service for businesses, Fristo does not fall under the European Accessibility Act. This statement does not give rise to any contractual claims.

2. Conformance status

Fristo is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. A full audit by an independent specialist body is still outstanding. We fix known shortcomings on an ongoing basis.

3. What we do about it

– Colour contrasts are calculated, not chosen by eye: body text reaches at least 4.5:1.
– Font sizes are specified in relative units and grow with the text when you enlarge it.
– The typeface is Atkinson Hyperlegible Next — designed to stay legible even under difficult conditions.
– We build every screen for the phone too, not only for the computer.
– We test new screens with automated tools and by hand, with the keyboard.

4. Aids on every page

Using the reading aids (bottom left) you can set, without an account:
– font size
– higher contrast
– wider line and letter spacing
– highlighted links

Your choice stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. On top of that come full keyboard operation, visible focus outlines, a semantic structure with labels for assistive technology and a dark appearance in the application.

5. Known limitations

Despite these measures there may be places that are not yet accessible — for example graphics or documents you have uploaded yourself. If you come across a barrier, please tell us; we log every report as a bug.

6. Feedback and contact

Write to email@fristo.ch telling us what did not work, on which page and with which assistive technology. We usually reply within five working days and tell you by when we will remove the barrier — or how you can still reach your goal until then.

7. If you need further help

If our reply is not enough for you, tell us — we will look for a way forward together with you.

8. Technology

Fristo relies on HTML5, WAI-ARIA 1.2, CSS and JavaScript (Vue). The current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge are supported, on the computer as well as on the phone.
